How do I upload my website?

Below are 4 ways to update your website.

1. FTP = File Transfer Protocol
.Short for File Transfer Protocol, the protocol used on the Internet for exchanging files. FTP works in the same way as HTTP for transferring Web pages from a server to a user's browser and SMTP for transferring electronic mail across the Internet in that, like these technologies, FTP uses the Internet's TCP/IP protocols to enable data transfer.

FTP is most commonly used to download a file from a server using the Internet or to upload a file to a server (e.g., uploading a Web page file to a server).

Make sure your homepage file called index.html is uploaded in the public_html/ (or /www) directory as well as all of your website files. This is the first file your visitors see when they access your domain name.

FTP Software programs to install on your computer:

2. Upload using Cpanel filemanager
This is similar to ftp only you upload your files via a browser.  This is good for someone out of the office or who doesn't like using 3rd party software.  To access this, simply login to cpanel (ie. http://yourdomain.com/cpanel) and click on the "Filemanager" or "Legacy filemanager" icon.  You'll want to upload to the www/ directory so your files will be visible on the web.  There are video tutorials and documentation within cpanel to help you through this.  Click here for more documentation on this.

3. Publish using Cpanel integrated Rvsitebuilder.
This one is good for people that don't know how to build a website but need one with a nice look and professional layout without knowing any html or programming.  To access this, login to cpanel (ie. http://yourdomain.com/cpanel) and click on the green "Rvsitebuilder" icon.  Click here for more information on this.

4. Update your site via wordpress.
This is a free third party software we provide to you in you cpanel as well.  Login to you cpanel and click on the "Fantastico" icon and install this onto your site with a click of a button.  Then follow these directions to manage your site.
